in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect 1 Pet. 3:15
This is a good topic to be looking into and I anticipate your posts with pleasure.
Thought #1 on Scenario #1.
"You are an evolved biological organism with no purpose other than to be born, survive for a period, suffer the ravages of age, die, and cease to exist. Your future is only oblivion."
Logical conclusion to Scenario #1: "...life serves no purpose other than to exist, procreate, and ensure that humanity continues, even though oblivion awaits all of us."
It does not follow that our purpose is to exist, procreate and ensure that humanity continues IF we are believers in Scenario #1. The more logical conclusion would be that we simply do not care if we procreate or not, the continuation of humanity should be furthest from our minds. In fact, if we really buy into the theory, then our attitude should be, "Eat, drink, and be merry, because tomorrow we die." In other words, total selfishness and a concerted focus on the present, here and now, because nothing in this life is guaranteed except that we die. Whoever dies with the most toys, wins, right? And children, whether born into a family or on the spur of the moment, are a hindrance to accumulating more toys.
No, those who are most consistent with the philosophy outlined in Scenario #1 will be less likely to procreate and, probably more likely, to abort their unborn children should a "mistake" happen. Instead, we will resemble Baron Bomburst's wife in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, who hated children and hired a kidnapper to catch and dispose of them so they were unseen and unheard.
Thought #2 on Scenario #1.
"...we should be shocked that it isn’t 100% anarchy all the time."
Anarchy. No rulers. Self-rule. Contrary to popular belief, anarchy does not mean chaos, illegality, or immorality. It simply means that there are no "rulers" to dictate orders to everyone else as to how they should live. The point being that, if we are born-again Christians and hear the Holy Spirit speak to us, then we should not need another human being creating legislation and laws to regulate and control our words, actions, and behavior. I hold myself to be a total 100% anarchist who hears no voice except that of God Himself, and I work that out in my daily life by following the
principle of Mark 12:30-31, in the words of the Master.
"…Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”
Anarchism, pure anarchism, means that you recognize no higher authority than that of Jesus Christ and that you are NOT bound to man-made rules which seek to dictate how you shall live. The Holy Spirit is my guide, the government nor society are not. I control myself (anarchy) in such a manner that God is glorified and, if I fail (sin), then I have to confess my failures (sins) and repent of them, which only means that my thoughts do not control me any longer. Instead, I have control over them.
I do not seek to control my neighbor. Neither do I want my neighbor to control me. This is liberty.
Well, OK, it is your blog. How many words am I allowed? On the other hand, you are writing Christian apologetics and, on that subject, no amount of words will ever suffice.

All very good points. My goal was to keep things pretty short, I hope others read your follow up.

As many as you like. My goal is to get attention on topics and pray people dig much deeper into every topic.
Excellent! Thank you. I appreciate that.
Wonderful! I look forward to your posts! It’s been a long time coming!
